Mentor ObTape Vaginal Sling

The lawyers at the Singleton Law Firm are currently reviewing cases involving the defective Mentor ObTape Vaginal Sling transobtrurator device. It is a medical device manufactured to surgically treat female stress urinary incontinence, or the involuntary leakage of urine from the bladder accompanying physical activity, which places increased pressure on the abdomen.

The Mentor ObTape Vaginal Sling device is an artificial structure that is designed to replace eroded or weakened muscles in the urethra. It is essentially a hammock for the vaginal wall. The sling is secured under the bladder to help support it where it can reinforce the muscles to control the flow of urine from the body.

While the procedure to secure the sling is minimally invasive, the Mentor ObTape Vaginal sling does not work properly. Many women have had adverse reactions to the device including impaired healing, vaginal extrusion, and urinary tract erosion that manifested itself into symptoms such as: extreme vaginal pain, vaginal discharge and infections.

If you or a loved one have experienced any crippling pain or permanent scarring in conjunction with the Mentor ObTape Vaginal Sling please contact the attorneys at the Singleton Law Firm immediately.
