Actos

Actos (Generic Name: Pioglitazone hyrochloride) is an oral anti-diabetic medication manufactured by Eli Lilly and given to diabetics to assist with the control of blood sugar. Actos is used to treat people with Type 2 diabetes.

However, the drug also has been found to cause a number of serious complications, including the following: 

  • Bladder Cancer
  • Heart Attack
  • Cardiovascular Problems
  • Edema
  • Swelling of the feet
  • Congestive heart failure
  • Hepatitis

In addition, Actos has also been linked to an increase risk of fractures in postmenopausal women with Type 2 diabetes, as well as in men with a loop diuretic.
