Incivek

Incivek (Telaprevir) is an antiviral medication that prevents certain virus cells from multiplying in the body. It is most commonly used for the treatment of Hepatitis C.The drug is co-developed by Vertex Pharmaceuticals and Johnson & Johnson. Incivek has been known to cause Steven Johnson's Syndrome, in which cell death causes the epidermis to separate from the dermis. It can also cause a severe rash.

The Federal Drug Administration reported that two people had died from serious skin reactions caused by the Incivek combination treatment and that a total of 112 patients had developed serious skin reactions of two different types. As a result, Vertex announced on Dec. 19, 2012 that it would add a black box warning of possible side effects on the US labels of Incivek.

If you or a loved one have suffered these or any other side effect from the use of Incivek, contact the attorneys at the Singleton Law Firm today for your free case evaluation. We will earn your trust!
