Januvia

Januvia (Sitagliptin) is an oral diabetes medication used for the control of blood sugar in Type 2 diabetics only. Sometimes it is used in combination with other diabetes medications. This drug is manufactured by Merck & Co. Inc.

Januvia can cause the following complications:

  • Pancreatic cancer
  • Pancreatitis
  • Upper abdominal pain that radiates to the back
  • Swollen or tender abdomen
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Fever
  • Increased heart rate

Januvia also can cause a serious allergic reaction with symptoms, including fever, sore throat, swelling or burning of the face, skin pain and a skin rash that spreads and causes blistering and peeling.
