Zimmer Durom Cup Hip Replacement

The lawyers of the Singleton Law Firm are currently reviewing cases involving the defective medical device, the Zimmer Durom Cup. It is a hip implant component designed for use in young, active patients that are likely to outlive regular hip prosthesis.

Over 12,000 patients since 2006 have been implanted with the Durom cup. It is a monoblock cup made of cobal chromium alloy and is designed to be used in conjunction with Zimmer’s Metasul Metal-on-Metal Tribological Solution Large Diameter Heads. The cup has been known to cause crippling pain after surgery, which leaves some patients more disabled post-operation.

Common symptoms of a failed Zimmer Hip Implant occur 90 days or more after surgery and may include:

  • Pain or discomfort in the replacement joint
  • A “loose” feeling or “popping” in the replacement joint
  • Additional Surgery
  • Revision Surgery

If you or a loved one have experienced injury or crippling pain after implantation of a Zimmer Durom Cup please contact the attorneys at the Singleton Law Firm to discuss your case.
