Phillip Pennywell, Jr., Ph.D, Vice President of Operations

Dr. Pennywell is a graduate of the Booker T. Washington High School, Shreveport, Louisiana. He also attended and received a Bachelor of Science and Master of Secondary Education from Southern University Baton Rouge. Further, studies at Kansas State University, Ph.D Program, Manhattan, Kansas. He completed his Doctoral work at the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, where he received his Ph.D. Post Doctoral work was completed at Louisiana State University- Shreveport Campus.

Dr. Pennywell retired from the Southern University System, where he served as a Full Professor and Chaired the Division of Behavioral Science and Education. He also served as Dean of Continuing Education and Outreach Program and Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Southern University–Shreveport. During his career, Dr. Pennywell served as an Adjunct Professor at Louisiana State University – Shreveport, Bossier Parish Community College and Wiley College, Marshall, Texas. Dr. Pennywell also served as a reviewer of Proposals for the Administration on Aging in Washington, D. C.

Professional Affiliations include a Member of the Caddo Parish Police Jury, Democratic State Central Committee, American Psychological Association/Teaching Psychology in Two-Year Colleges and Charles F. Menninger Society, Kappa Alpha Psi, Shreveport Alumni Chapter and Delta Kappa Boule’.

Dr. Pennywell has been with the Singleton Law Firm in a full time capacity since his retirement from the Southern University System, January 1, 2001.
